Office Hours and Emergencies

The phones are attended from 9.00 am to 7.00 pm from Monday to Friday. Unfortunately we do not operate an out of hours service so in the event of an emergency, we suggest you contact your GP in the usual way.

Appointment Times

We allow about half an hour to see each patient though it may run to nearly an hour, depending on the problem.

Please check your appointment card for the correct day, date, time and as to whether your appointment is at our main Childer Road premises or at our branch in the StowHealth GP building at Violet Hill Road. If you are unsure, please call the office to confirm your appointment.

We normally like to hold your appointment for about ten minutes. If you are unavoidably late we hope that the next patient will be tolerant.

Cancellation or Changing Appointments

Please give us as much notice as possible if you have to cancel or change your appointment. We prefer 24 hours notice, so that we can offer it to another patient. If insufficient notice of cancellation is given, or you do not turn up for your appointment, a cancellation fee will be incurred.

Updating Case Records

We like to keep our osteopathic case record cards up to date. Please try and remember to inform us of any changes of address and contact numbers, especially ex-directory listings. If you have not been into the practice for over a year or so, please inform us of any changes when booking your appointment.

Fees for Consultation and Treatment

Our usual fee is £32.50 and you should allow between 25-45 minutes for your first consultation. Please confirm our current fee level when you ring for your appointment.

We are registered with all major insurance companies. We operate a system whereby payment follows each session and we will provide you with a receipt in order that your insurance company can reimburse you for the cost.

We ask that all fees be settled at the time of each consultation, otherwise we may make an administration charge for overdue accounts.

We accept cash and cheques, made payable to ‘Stowmarket Osteopaths’.
